Here in Oklahoma the April 1st Coffee & Cars decided to have a cruise because they couldn't have the regular show. There was a map and a 30 mile route. Because it went very well, somebody started a facebook page about cruising up and down Main Street like everybody did back in the 70'& 80's. The last 2 Fri/Sat nights the streets have been packed with Hot Rodders. Bumper to bumper for the 2 mile strip. All kinds of nice Show Cars, Classics, Customs, trucks, and Hot Rods. The Dope Dispensory even had an old Armored Truck in the mix. People sitting parked at all the business. Drive-In full. Local VW club had 15 VW's making a couple passes all together. Police just letting everybody enjoy themselves. Everybody was mellow and there were no jackasses doing burn outs. Now there are 5-6 other towns around Okla. City that want to bring back cruising like it used to be on their Main St.

Anybody else have Cruising in their towns?

OK was one of the seven states that was never on mandatory lock down. Next week the race track is opening back up. Restruants will be allowed to open too.

There has been a couple groups here the last few years organizing cruise nights downtown in the summer months, kind of cool they are doing it. Not anything like it was up through the 80's though. One good thing, now its mostly classic cars, by the late 80's early 90's when the cops locked it down, most everyone was down to cruising mommy and daddy's Civic or Camry☹

Nothing in my burg. Our Main St. is a one way afair. So no cruisers here.

I remember when I was a much younger man. We would cruise the creek (Walnut Creek, Ca.) every Saturday night. That was great fun back in the old day's. Someone would throw a can of oil into a parking lot. And the burnout contests were on.

I know on my local town cruise back in the 80"s the police shut it down because the street was gridlock for the whole mile strip. Their reason was that they could not get any emergency vehicles through. Over the years they have widened the street to have a extra left turn lane the entire mile so it shouldn't be a problem to get the fire trucks thru. We shall see how things progress.

Cheyenne had a post on social media about having one. Expected 40-50 vehicles and over 300 participated. Another small town up north has been having one on Friday or Saturday night for the past few weeks.

Just got back from cruising downtown Mustang, OK. Bumper to bumper 5 MPH traffic for 4 miles. Bowling Alley parking lot had probably 200 cars parked and there was no social distancing. Everybody was hanging in big groups. Fire Dept on the main cruise has all the trucks parked on the driveway and the firefighters were sitting in their lawn chairs waving at cars. Cops were not bothering anybody.

We did that yesterday too, about 80+ cars and people outside on the sidewalks waving American flags.

Start a Facebook page about the local cruising spot and invite everybody to join. By this weekend you'll have 500 people show up to cruise.

make sure you have a special invite to the 'Dope Dispensary" , ask about THC infused suppositories ( the latest wave in Cannabis profiles ). It will make the cruise a whole lot more fun as they infect each other at the bowling alley.

No such thing as a Main St. where I live. Just shopping centers, freeways and suburban sprawl. Bummer.

A cruise sounds like a great compromise, stay in your car, drive past others & admire them at a distance.

I just drove 150 miles this morning to see what interesting sights I could find.

Very nice, Dave! Enjoyed that very much. Have not been outside at all damn rainy week. Then I gotta be in the Corona 19 again end of week.

So nice to see people outside doing stuff. Just goes to show you a world w/o people is pretty sad.
