A few years ago, when in Bad Camberg, I saw a German guy selling new scuttle panels for Splits & Ovals. These are the ones directly in front, and below the windscreen. I've not seen anything like these for sale for a long time now.
Does anybody make or sell them these days? |

Dirk Hortig is pressing those. Martin, if needed, search for blechmanufaktur in Germany .

Thanks for the thought, but the topic you mention isn't about the scuttle panel, as the scuttle panel is the flat, horizontal one, in front of, and below the windscreen. The one that the wipers come through. |

Mine is non existent! This isn't for the 47, but the 51, Ex British Army Standard I've also had sqirrelled away since 1978. |

Martin. Dirk hortig is your man.. His panels are exact copy's. He made that for the hebmullers but due to the dimension on the presses, he cut the scuttel in a separate mould. So you can have the needed part.

Oh. Sorry. I needed one of those and fortunately 10 years ago found a seller here who was selling a NOS front window section that someone had cut from a NOS ragtop roof to make it easy to store.

… Thank you for your description of a scuttle as I never heard that term before and had no clue, what it was - after you described, what it was, I looked in my 1957 type one parts book and it illustrates that scuttle as part of the main component - the roof... and not available seperately
… never saw rust, in that part at all - ever...

… yup, that scuttle is parta' the roof section in that split illustration also - nice split illustration, by the way - very similar to the '57 illustration, 'cept for the split-details - read that link - is interesting, but I never saw those drains mentioned, in the article, on any early bug and I've cut up many a' type one - and I keep all my cars, under the cover of my old pole barn - houses 16 cars Also, ONLY use my Honda Civic on rainy days - nonna' my VWs get rained-on in my stewardship...

Thanks for that info. Just what I've been looking for. Oddly, I've been buying from CSP recently, and had no idea that they sold the scuttle/cowl panel.
That's something else I've learnt on this forum, i.e. Scuttle = Cowl. As they say, we Brits & Americans are separated by a common language! |

… and I have learned - we are also separated by a pond - remove the pond and we are on the same side - of coarse, a cowl - I had a cowl-vent on my P15.
I once worked for Volvo Cars of North America, in NJ and my position was going through the Swedish new model micro fiche, every new model year recognizing and changing the Euro terms to American, for the US parts film before it was released to the USA dealer-body … also, I supplied DeLorean with in-common parts... for the DOHC engine and more...
