I just got some new progress images of the Ghia today and it's coming along nicely. I was also able to upload the last of the old images so I am up to date on the progress time line. Enjoy!

Excellent seeing professional metal work, but especially seeing the work by those willing to try like Antoine and Tony B! Almost like watching them built in the factory once again.

Hey Loren, this is the Jason I was telling you about a LONG TIME AGO
You could eat off the floor there and he is an animal when it comes to churning out metal.
Your car could...........
Last I heard there was an originally Amazon Green vert in town here that was very clean it just had the nose vents changed some time in the past. Local VW nut found it in Kansas.
How is the spare room project coming along? |

Yeah, but when you told me about Jason he was only using a mig welder. Now he is all dialed in and does tig too. I didn't want him to learn on my Ghia
He is really doing great work on this Amazon Green cabrio and I can't wait to see it in paint.
Apparently there is some progress on my cabrio. I will check it out next week. The spare room is all clear of Ghia parts, motor, transmission...kinda sad, but it had to be done. These parts are not toys after all. |

I don’t think the radio hole he rgged up is correct. At least on my lowlight it’s an odd size, it doesn’t fit a typical Bendix or Sapphire radio. _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

The whole body is so clean. I am assuming the car was dipped, stripped, and pickled before Jason started. Correct? _________________

The Ghia was sand blasted and primed before Jason started working on it.
As far as I know the radio hole size is correct. It should fit a Blaupunkt radio just fine. |

Jason has been attending to all the small details and getting the body work dialed in. He still has the windshield frame to weld back on, but aside from that he is almost done, then it's on to the pan. Enjoy!

‘58 didn’t have the raised VW emblem base on the nose did it? I thought that went out with the ‘57s? _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

So 59 was the only lowlight to not have it? _________________ Go Reds! Smash state!

Here is a photo from the very beginning when the body was stripped of all damaged panels.
and here is the Ghia tucked away until its next work session. Looks like it's in good company!
I think all that is left on the body is to install the convertible top and weld the windshield frame back in place, then it's on to fixing the pan. |
