Does anyone know if the solex 28 pci float is the same for a solex 28 vfis .. I'm looking to buy some solex 28 vfis but they are missing the floats and I know they sell new solex 28 pci floats and was wondering if I could use them on the solex 28 vfis ...

I know it doesn’t address your question, but I wanted to share my experience with 28vfis. In my 52 Beetle I built a mild sneaky hotrod 25hp look alike, 69mm Okrasa crank with 36hp pistons and heads.

On the dyno my NOS and freshly rebuilt 28vfis produced slightly less hp than the stock 26vfis. Both were jetted on the dyno. There are several variants of 28vfis, the particular one that I found did not have a larger Venturi than the 26vfis. Final note, the engine upgrades made my 26vfis a more driveable carb than it had been on the stock 25hp, probably due to the increased vacuum pulse.

I have plans for a similar build, what manifold did you use?

My manifold is stock 36hp, modified by me to look like a jacketed K. I covered it in the thread for my Chestnut 52
