#4 is the only downside relevant to my last purchase of a Vanagon back in 2004. And, now I've rectified that downside.

Oh come on, there's a LOT more than 5 reasons not to buy a vanagon.
But it's not about the reasons to not buy a vanagon.
It's whether or not the reasons TO buy outweigh the reasons Not to buy for each individual. _________________ One of these days I'm gonna settle down,

It is true, I have started making videos to entertain myself
This is a YouTube channel we started as a family. I'm not sure which direction we are going with them quite yet, but I'm learning a lot and continue to acquire new filming equipment to make them better as we go! Learning to talk to a camera certainly has it's difficulties.
My personality isn't for everybody, but it's something I've wanted to try for years and the kids are super excited to get involved. _________________ Matthew Alig

Awesome having the kids involved! I always enjoyed your posts about your van, and making it work as a family camper. I recognized it right away in the video -
Funny, how some of the older colors look better today than back then (IMHO)- nostalgia perhaps? Don't know, and the reason does not matter anyway!
Keep filming! _________________ John - 86 Wolfsburg Westfalia "Weekender"

Thanks! I have really enjoyed putting the van back on the road, and it has been an awesome adventure tastefully customizing it to fit our lifestyle! I love that all the kids want to drive the Vanagon when they grow up. It would be excellent to see it go full circle again.
I think the nostalgia plays a big part. Though I have always been partial to the Bamboo Yellow, my wife needed some time to grow accustomed to it. She mainly hates how painfully visible it is...that's one of my favorite parts _________________ Matthew Alig

#6, Rattles... rattles everywhere, squeaking old plastic, old bushings, lack of sound deadening and squealing belts. Oh and squeaking mice occasionally. |
