Should know about this but gonna ask anyway...one never knows it all! What is the exact function of the “round” area on my 1975 injected air filter housing. It’s some sort of valve with two hoses connected when in the car. That much I know. It seems someone in the past has taken this round cover apart, I can see pry marks. What were they trying to fix? How do I know if it functions properly?
Thanks,
Bill

Not all have that, I still haven't determined which model or year got them. Here's some in depth discussion into it's function and purpose, and how to tell if yours still works: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=251133 (different model, same part). _________________ Rust NEVER sleeps and stock never goes out of style.

Hey busdaddy,
Thanks for mentioning that thread. What a wealth of information on such a misunderstood part! My engine was running perfectly but I always wondered about this part. That thread is really involved and wonderfully written with great pictures. Thanks again!
