Who has installed a Upper Door Lip Seal Kit on an early van (possibly pre-1988) that did not originally have them?

All the vendors sell it, GW just had the best photos and description.
My questions - how did you install it? The seal currently on my 84 covers the sheet metal lip that I think this additional seal uses.
Note: that photo is the slanted leading edge of the driver's door on my 84, same area shown in this Gowesty photo:
Did you manage to tuck the edge of the old seal under that lip? Or did you trim the old seal?
Was the additional seal effective in reducing wind noise? TIA for any advice. |
