I have been working on my 79 Epilogue for 25 years. Patience pays off. Slowly over the years it has become what it is today. A fun top down cruiser. Nothing is better than walking out of work, after a rough day and walking up to the car and looking forward to putting the top down for the ride home. (Just have to make sure the seat is cool enough to prevent the waffle pattern skin burn )
Plus I have enjoyed teaching both my kids to drive a manual in this car. My 15yr old almost has it mastered. His 19 year old sister, not so much.

| Volkz, there you are! I've been waiting for 1968 to get represented. I do think the results are interesting. Despite 1974 seeing a sharp decline in production numbers, it is the most represented year here so far. |

1975 La Grande in progress. Idiot body shop years ago with PO installed ‘74 fenders after rear end tap. Sorting it all out now! Ancona blue and viper green go well with the Seatte Sounders championship banner!

'77 Standard, purchased in 1992 after seeing it for sale at the Litchfield Inn Bug-Inn event in CT in June of that year. Originally Lime Green metallic, but PO painted it early 1970's Chevy Lime Green which was a reasonably close match. He also fitted fiberglass fenders, nerf bar "bumpers", and '67 taillamps. I did not like that look at the back, so in the fall of '92 I fitted '68 taillamps and a set of junkyard find '74 OG bumpers. This is how it looks now; just fitted with new tires a few weeks ago.
I have another '77 Std Beetle awaiting revival (@ retirement?); was an abandoned but totally rust-free fenderless rolling shell that I bought long ago. Originally Bahama Blue, and will get earlier fenders/engine lid. |

Sometimes you choose the car and other times the car chooses you. In my case I gravitated towards my 74 because I had an almost new one back in high school. Glenn chose his as a brand new car and he probably has close to 500k miles on it. The others I don’t know. I think it’s coincidental that 74 would be in the majority.
