Had some running issues on street legal 1600. It’s stock was idling rough And well the ear is broke. New carb time. However I am a newbie at this and unsure at which carb I need. 30/31 or 34. Help and guidance appreciated.

The bore at the butterfly will be about 1 3/16" on the 30/31 and about 1 5/16 on the 34.

You could salvage your carb with a flanged nut and a bolt. Use a hacksaw or file to remove the webbing that is just above the mounting pad so that your new flanged nut will bear relatively evenly on top of the flange of the carb. A flanged Nylock nut would be the best so you don't have to tighten it anymore than is needed to make the gasket seal.
