Hi All!
If this is not allowed please delete but I couldn't find anything that said it wouldn't be.
I am looking to purchase a few parts from GoWesty but I'm afraid they won't show up until the fall with shipping delays due to Covid.
Is there anywhere in Canada that would have these parts?
Auxiliary Battery Kit [1983-91 Full Campers]
Sliding Window Screen (LH/RH)
Folding Cup Holder (Black or Gray)
Climate Control Decal for Vanagon
Likely more parts to be added but these were for now.
Thanks so much everyone!! |

In your neck of the woods the obvious first try would be Jeff in Halifax:

BTW If you scroll down to near the bottom of page 2 of my thread, you'll find a nice concise list of parts suppliers including Jeff:
https://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=...p;start=20
I was a bit harsh on Bus Depot due to a, um, misunderstanding and couldn't retract those words due to passage of time and editing rules. The only thing with them is shipping: do a shipping estimate online and then compare with what they quote you over the phone. The latter is usually cheaper so don't forget to make a call to a) determine parts availability which isn't shown online b) cheapest shipping quote to Canada. _________________ "Fritz", a temperamental and unforgiving 1989 Westy that proudly bears his German flags and status as a member of the exclusive GoWesty Belly Flop Club.

Just looked at your list again, Princess Auto has the cupholders for dirt cheap. They might still be doing Covid-related free shipping.
Also, for not too specific parts, always check the general online suppliers (Napa, autopartswarehouse, etc), they sometimes have what you need. Although, whenever you can, using the Vanagon-specific suppliers is preferred, and a better long-term investment _________________ '90 Little Blue Truck, 2WD auto, FAS GenV 2.0 NA (AVH) |

Indeed they are. But it's only a good deal if you're local or close in otherwise shipping comes into play. _________________ "Fritz", a temperamental and unforgiving 1989 Westy that proudly bears his German flags and status as a member of the exclusive GoWesty Belly Flop Club.

For the "Auxilliary Battery Kit", I suggest that you pass on that as it is not one of GoWesty's best products.
Instead, you can go to your local NAPA and buy the Surepower 1315 battery separator or, if you intend to use a solar panel and solar charge controller on your rig, the Surepower 1314. Most marine supply stores will also sell the Surepower units. The 100 amp version will do the job:
https://www.marineoutfitters.ca/index.cfm?category...7468013152
Even Walmart lists them:
https://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/Sure-Power-S7A-1315A-Bi-Directional-Battery-Separator/PRD3A5S99RW9PET
The Surepower units sense when a charging voltage is present, such as when the alternator raises voltage over the pre-set threshold (13.2 volts and over), and then applies current to the built-in solenoid, thus connecting the house battery to the charging circuit. When the engine is shut off, the fall in voltage below 12.8 volts is sensed and the solenoid disconnects after a brief "lag time" intended to keep the unit from constantly clicking on and off.
Use a sufficiently large wire gauge to ensure your house battery gets full voltage from your alternator. _________________ '86 Syncro Westy SVX |

I ordered parts for my porsche on My 27th. Just got them yesterday. They sat at the border for 20 plus days, to let them de covidify, if you want parts in a reasonable time, stay in Canada. |
