I already have one of the originals, but here’s a new supplier for well-made repo Formula V shift knobs. And they’re not very expensive.

… I had one like that in my new, 1965 bug, years ago - felt and looked good - go for it - put this 1948 bug knob in our '55.

The gearshift knob on my 1971 convertible looks like this. I seem to remember buying it at a VW dealership in the 1970s.
