Hi all,

I'm interested in purchasing a set of NDIX 32 carbs from an Ebay seller.

The seller sent images of an "NOS" NDIX 32 carb for my review.

I would like to confirm the condition of the cast throttle plate.

Is it broken?

Image attached.

Thanks,

Kevin

No it's not broken but that might be a aftermarket 32ndix rather than a oem Zenith. Not sure if the originals had the balance slot or not. Could also be the cold start enrichment feed. Been a long time since I Looked at one.

There is no Aftermarket zenith unless you can say porsche are after market .. reason I say is these zenith carbs were first used in the late 1930s and 40s the french flathead engine used these carbs porsche in the 50s started testing these on there engine and notice they worked so porsche bought the rights and castings.. the early zenith castings would have had made in France over the years others have bought the rights since porsche wasn't using them anymore .... so let's just say these are not authentic porsche 356 zenith carbs since other manufacturers used the same castings /rights.....

These are definently not NOS (New Old Stock) based on the dirt and grime. They have been use for sure.
I would say they are not original to Porsche. If you would like a photo comparison let me know. I have originals in my cabinet since i am running Webers (they are way more reliable)

Never seen a 356 with Zeniths that had starter pull levers but my 1973 Styer Puch Daimler Pinzgauer has a pair of 32ndix carbs that do run them. You should recheck the I’d numbers on your carbs as there may other internal differences.

Thanks all for the info.

Seller was not amicable to authenticate NOS claim.

Went with these instead:

For a VW application. The rebuilder's attention to detail is high, so I'm looking forward to introducing the setup to a stock to mildly engrossed Type 1 application.
