looking for a bit of insight
looking to replace my main harness. my square is a 71, the fuel injection has been removed. ispwest has the harness up to 70.
would the master kit (k311998001) work? or is there another company that makes a harness for a 71?
i was thinking of making my own but at a cost below 500, its not worth my time.
thanks in advance |

If I recall correctly, the main differences between 1970 and 71- on are the electrical test port, fresh air blower, and the headlights only illuminating with the key on beginning August 1970 (1971 model year). As long as you are familiar with reading and understanding wiring diagrams and are familiar with DIN wiring protocol, you should be able to make it work.
Incidentally- FI has nothing to do with the main wiring harness on these cars. All of it is separate wiring that is added to the same standard harness.
Bigger question is why do you want to replace the harness? _________________ Немає виправдання для війни! Я з Україною.

thanks for the reply Tram, the car is currently in the shop getting a complete body restoration, the painter took the entire harness under the dash and made a big ball to make sure he didn't paint the wire. I'm worried because before it went in for paint, the wires were becoming brittle and thin in some spots. Car should be back home by next week so i wanted to get the harness on order now because shipments out of the U.S.A can be long for Canadians. |
