Just trying to find some different kind of project to keep the mind sharp...
It was only $20 and I have the paint already so why not right?

Hmmmmm....., that's some pretty sweet patina going on there, slam it! 
I suspect that pic is going to disappear soon, better find a different place to host it.

$20 is a great deal for that, I'm always in the hunt for kid toys like pedal cars ect., got 2 Grandkids now...

Indeed, I'd put it on Ebay as is with a wordy hipster description that hits all the key words for those searching for trendy interior decorating curios, of course it would also need an inflated hipster price. Just think of the "likes" someone could get with that in the background in their photos at home!

You know I think we have all heard that so much on TV for a variety of things that many people believe it. It might be for cars of a certain vintage, so I am not saying it NEVER is accurate.
My only experience has been rebuilding 10 or so minibikes over the past year and a half. I've had a couple which I would consider "barn finds". They had the original decals, original paint, original motors, etc and I gave them a general cleaning and tried to move them with no luck. I would then take them apart, strip the old paint, fix and rust, pound out any small dents, and paint them up with a shiny metallic paint and they sold within days.
For some things I think people want "like new". And if someone grandparent is gonna buy this for their grandkid I don't think they want any rust, and peeling paint, and a really faded paint job. |

| If it is the ORIGINAL Texaco and Fire Chief logos and this was sold only at Texaco stations, my advice, is to leave the logos, and paint the white walls and ladder holders and wax the red. That is if you want to get about $200 for it. If you want less do more work and paint the whole thing red. You can get the ladders. Just search repro ladders pedal cars. |

| About 20 years ago I bought a fire engine pedal car for my son. It is back in the original box in mint condition waiting for grandchildren. At the same time I bought the car in kit form. Never touched it and it is still in the original box waiting for me to do something with it. |
