Just building up the 63 bus and having a few probs with the rear bumper splash guards.
Something is not quite right.
The lower tab on splash guard does not line up with threaded side mounting in bumper.
And the cut outs just don't seem to let it sit right in bumper.

Looking for decent pics or advice.

The rear bumper is slash cut.
The splash pans are WW kit. Ordered for this year of bus. But maybe I have been sent wrong ones?
Or I am doing something wrong.

I have attached the curved piece of metal in the kit that attached on the top side of splash guard. And that takes bolt thru the Body of the bus in rear lower corner.

The lower tab lines up with nothing. I expected this to be where it bolts to the welded mounting in the side of bumper.

Am I getting something wrong?
Or is this wrong year of guard?

Dimensions to check it would help if anyone can check 👍

Those small brackets donít mount as you have them. They go on the inside of the body to strengthen the sheet metal. Some info here with a link to a diagram:

Thanks Krustybus
Yes I know they go on inside. Just bolted there loosely whilst I try and work out why the tab that bends downwards on that part is do far from the bumper side fixing.

They look an awful lot like early bay pans.

I don't think it's this simple but:
What doesn't line up here?
It looks like you need to raise the splash pan a little and then bolt it to the bumper from underneath

Your bumper bracket is not stock so maybe it's in the wrong place?

The shape looks Split Bus to me.

Early Bay are cut differently:

Drop in your part that bolts to the side first so the edge that holds the rubber seal is real close to the blade. Then see how the part that sits on top of the bumper-to-body bracket fits. You might have to slide the bracket inward. You might have to notch your splash pans more to fit your bumper type splash pan brackets.

Hi EverettB
The issue is the tab that is bent downwards that is supposed to line up and bolt to the bumper tip mount is no where near it.
Maybe it is the bumper which I believe is repro WW.
The splash pan does not sit well on the rear bumper mount bracket either.
Looks like I would need to trim parts to get a good fit.

I have drawn where the tab is and where it should fix. It is way off.
I will get back to it in next couple days and see what needs doing.
But have a feeling I need to trim the cut outs.

This ^^^ so it can nestle in close to the blade with the rubber seal on.

Ok, I understand now.

I'm wondering if you are going to have to trim it too, especially since the outer mount on the bumper is so much wider than an original.

I went outside and measured the distance on my original bumper from the bolt hole to the edge.
This could at least verify for you that the bracket and bolt hole are in the right spot.
Distance = Approx. 3 1/4" from center of hole straight over to the edge

It looks like maybe they already trimmed it larger then originals, maybe to compensate for their brackets?

An NOS splash pan, the cut out for the side bracket is shorter

BTW, I assemble with bolts NOT snugged down, then install on bus, lastly snug down the bolts holding the pieces together.

I have 2 1/2 Inches from edge to threaded hole in Slash cut bumper.
It also looks like I need to make the cut out bigger to fit around the rear bumper support bracket mount.
Shame as I got these powder coated already 🙄

Thanks for checking measurement EverettB 👍

I also decided to order new repro bumper brackets. Without the bumper on the splash pans fit nice.

I will take another look tomorrow.
