Hello helpful people.
I’m trying to figure out why my break lights are not working.... starting at the back before I move towards the front.
(79 bus).
Light bulbs are fine, power to the signals, marker lights, parking lights.
There are a few disconnected wires (see pic)
The one with the tape on it heads towards the front,
The one with the square housing goes to all the lights (appears they should be wired together....? Checked for power with a test light, no power in either of the for mentioned wires.
I cleaned the grounds and grounding plate, hard to get to the back of the taillight assembly to do a thorough clean unless there's an easy way to take it out.
Also noticed that my hazards don’t flash on the back & front of left side... signals work however. I went through each fuse with the test light, 3,4 and 7 didn’t light up... (my understanding is those are for low-beam headlights, which are fine, and accessory..
Any help to figure this out would be great,
Thanks!

Sounds like multiple problems
I would disconnect the battery and take the hazard switch out of the dash and
You will probably find the switch came apart(common problem)
You zip tie it back together. And reinstall it and reconnect the battery and see if the 4 way flashers work _________________ V.W.owner since 1967 |
