Derived from existing content, these '85 and '86 Vanagon primary wiring diagrams are stitched together like a scroll rather than separated by page breaks.

Thats pretty handy since I've got an 86. In case I missed it on the diagram is this for the VINs up to G 055 689 of after VIN 055 690? My Bently has both sections for 86. I'd love to have a scroll print out of this! Maybe a just a PDF of the individual pages and cut and tape... Thanks for doing this, I've often wanted to see the uninterrupted map.

The source material doesn't say, so I would guess the earlier VINs. Maybe someone knows for sure?

Thanks for making this available !

I decided to customize it to do an as-is wiring diagram of my 1986 Westfalia van. As I worked with it in Photoshop, I realized it's not that hard to add color and patterns to the diagram. Well, it took days, but once I defined the patterns I need, I went back and colorized the original.

I'd love to upload it but it's too big to fit the photo gallery.

Anyway, I'm sure someone has the capacity to post it online and add a link. I can send it by email to get this to happen !

I'd love to see the colorized version!

imgur.com can host up to 200mb and doesn't delete images.

Nice, but printing it out is going to be a challenge!
You need an old dot matrix printer with the never ending paper roll!

Once you get used to the diagram design, flipping pages really isn't too difficult.
Actually I find it Easier than scrolling left, scrolling right, scrolling up, scrolling down, scrolling left, scrolling right..........

I guess i'm old, I grew up with 1950’s Beetle wiring diagrams in color on one page!

I have never gotten used to the Bentley diagram. I can use it but I would very much prefer this style of presentation.

Any chance one would ever get done for an '87? Very Happy

From what I saw clicking on the link, it is still the same circuit path design as found in the Bentley, just without the page breaks. One big long scroll.

You will still need to follow circuit path numbers left and right to see where they go.

This isn't redone to be similar to the old Beetle diagrams, there are simply way too many wires in the newer vehicles to do this effectively.

OK. I exchanged emails with RawUmber and took his suggestion to set up my own Imgur account. I converted the photoshop file to a png. I'm labeling it version 1.1. If anyone sees any errors, pm me (or post), and I can update the file.

If I understand the process, this link should work!

I agree, but it still looks better to my feeble mind. Maybe I just like the colors?

Colors are great identifiers. I stopped using my Harbor Freight color coded sockets, but when I go to a friend's house I can instantly grab the 10mm (purple), the 13mm (green) and the 17mm (gray.)

Colors really are handy.
