Hey all I am the proud owner of a ‘90 vanagon GL converted to a Subaru 2.5. Professionally done by the PO at Metric Motors outside SLC. I’m curious to know insight on electronic issues anyone has had post conversion? Currently my brake lights are not working, or any of the turn signals; but, clicking the running lights on. All four blinkers are illuminating as daytime running lights! Bulbs are not the issue here. The indicator light on the dash is a solid green, no audible “clicking” occurs when the signal is engaged in either direction. Hazard flashers do not work either. All visible fuses in the box are clean and not blown, the larger black “cube” fuses, IDK how to check those so see if they are blown?
I’ve ordered from GoWesty all new LED bulbs (Brake, turn, reverse, halogen headlights), LED resistor add on, and LED fuse adapter.
I’ve heard the electrical out put from the Subaru motors are higher and may have something to do with it?
I’m waiting for the light package to come in so I can dive into it, but wanted to get some community input on trouble shooting this, common grounding point positions I should check? Switches and relays positions? Signal stalk contact pads? Anything I’m overlooking?

Update; update: flashers and brake lights only work when the key is off, as soon as it it turned to accessory mode they turn off, same with headlights... is this normal? Brake lights work when key is out, as soon as the key is turned I lose them... what is going on with this? All fuses 1-22 are good and correct amp... I’m at a loss?

Hi
Clean all grounds, especially ground tree(s) behind the dash.
Try changing the ignition switch. Cheap and not hard to do.
