1970 1302 convertible electric top?

My wife (and me too) are getting old and lazy. Too many times we do not open the top because it is too laborious, especially if it's a short trip. But I love driving open air! Modern convertible cars have automatic opening for their top, but I don't want to replace my bug. Therefore ... Is there a way to have an automatic opening system for my convertible top? A kit, an all-new top, any system anywhere anyhow?

I'm actually working on such a system, especially for the 60-71 roof.

The first prototype will get its cover at the end of august and should be ready in september. If everything works like it should I will offer a "no welding required" kit at the end of this year, so stay tuned.

Kits for the 72+-roof are currently available, but require slight cutting and welding. I will redesign these and offer a non-welding kit too.
