|
|
I have the SA grill with the 5" Hella high beam bulbs. The reflectors are peeling their silver for the second time and I want to replace these with something better.
Is there a decent LED High beam drop in replacement for these. I see folks have used other LED bulbs in this spot but cannot seem to find a good thread that shows brands/makes/models that have worked.
Any help is appreciated...

I don't have any experience with these but Transporter works offers some alternatives...

Bumping this back up hoping for a few more options. the one suggestion is pretty nice albeit a little on the pricy side. I know I have seen some other LED set ups, just would like to connect with something decent that is not quite so elaborate, some straight-up small format high beam using LEDS.

these might work, but you'd have to figure out the mounting.

dougnlina - did you ever find a solution for this? I am in the same boat now. My van was in the shop for a few days, and noticed last night that the lens on the drivers side high beam is busted. Not sure if it happened on the tow truck, at the shop, or while sitting outside waiting for pick up. All I have found so far are the replacements on Go Westy that are $75 + shipping and include the mounting hardware. All that I really need is the replacement lens. There are lots of 5.75" slim lens lights on Amazon. I was considering giving one of those a shot. |

I live in CA, but I'm a long way away from Syncrofest, and won't be able to make it there. Would you be able to ship? |

Bumping thread:
I'm in the market to get rid of my SA headlight kit inners.
They suck and my lenses fell off (as mentioned in other thread)
Any good LED suggestions for the SA inner high beam lights that fit the mounting setup?
Yes Transporterworks lights are cool but looking for other ideas as well. _________________ One Life, Live It |

Well, at Transporterworks website, it looks like they are out of stock or they no longer sell them. _________________ One Life, Live It |

I believe Smallcar is working on a plug and play inner light conversion, along with their version of the SA grill. _________________ 1986 Hightop w/EJ25 DOHC & 4EAT auto

I used JW speaker 8630. The output is simply amazing. Makes my relayed E code Hella high beams look like candles.
Mounting them requires some work though.
