Cutting old 2wd Vanagon shell and re weld it on a passat syncro

I was wondering if some one tried something like cutting 2wd shell of its chasis and re weld it on a different chasis, i know i will need to shorten the driveshaft a little of the passat syncro to match length i will use spacers to widen it, i have never seen anyone do this.. unable to find suncro van and thinking about this Very Happy
