Rear Floor Support

afternoon guys,
I've been removing what remains of the floors on my 68' autostick frame and have a question. On the rear torsion bar tube/shock tower there is a small tab for supporting the rear of the floor. Is there supposed to be a thick tab of sheet metal between the floors and the actual tab? Is this piece of thicker sheet metal part of the floor?
