With winter approaching I'm starting to think about how to store my '71 bug for the winter. I do not have access to a garage so am leaning the cover route. I'm assuming that like all things VW you get what you pay for, and it's worth it to drop a couple extra bucks and buy quality. Any recommendations on who caries a quality bug cover? I see them going for as low as $40ish on eBay but am assuming those are the bargain basement "You'll be sorry you bought this" variety. _________________ Volkswagens don't like trees, make all necessary efforts to keep your VW from meeting one.

I buy all of my car covers from carcovers.com. This is a different place than carcover.com. My standard is the "ultimate cover", if the vehicle is going to be stored outside. I live in Virginia that has humility, snow, and significant rain. This brand and model seems to hold up much better than than any other commercial brand I have found.
They are not the cheapest, nor the most expensive. I have at least four of them... |

My Wolf car cover was tailor-made for my Bug and has lasted for about 20 years with little wear and tear. It's made of a fabric that lets water out, but prevents it from soaking in.
It wasn't cheap, though. I don't remember exactly, but I want to say it was in the $200 range, and that was 20 years ago. _________________ "It's time you started treating people as individuals, rather than mathematically predictable members of an aggregate set, regardless of how well that works." |

I bought this one a few years ago when my bug had to sit outside for a few months. Mine was under the cover while under a covered car port with no sides so not directly hit by the elements but did get plenty of rain. I'm in FL so no snow but it worked pretty good.

| The Cip1 cover is really nice. It is breathable, with a soft surface that is on the car side. Also fits perfect, and comes with a storage bag, just throw it in the trunk. A $100 well spent. No affiliation. |
