The line that runs through the tunnel has been lost. I have a replacement from ISP and also a tubing bender. I presume it goes through the hole under the MC and uses a grommet. Car is a 67 and has the dual MC.

Any hints on making the bends? What is it supposed to look like?

Also, does anything support the line inside the tunnel? It doesn't just lie there does it?

It looks like you're missing a hole that should be near the MC but between the MC and the tunnel. The brake line actually goes along side the tunnel, under the carpet. There should be some metal tabs that hold the line down to keep it from rattling.

Sorry for the crappy pic (tie rod in the way of viewing it), but you also have no holes for the MC rock plate to bolt on (goes under the MC).

Also on page 172 of Clatter's Black Fastback Build thread (toward the bottom of the page)you can see a couple of pics of Critters car showing the brake line going thru that front wall into the car. I'd post the pics here, but they won't open, but here's the links to them.

At the time, the discussion was about the lower beam clamps. Wink Those pics were "background stuff". Cool
Oh yeah, here's a shot from Brian Fye's "Roach" showing the brake line along side the tunnel. Wink

Thanks Bob!

The two holes for the splash guard are there ...

And I now see the tabs along the tunnel. It looks like the guy that applied the bedliner to the pan covered the hole at the front of the tunnel where the tubing should pass. He also went right over the bolt for the brake pedal stop. Confused

The hole I asked about does seem to be where the tube and grommet should go. A little bend should put the tube at the corner of the pan just ahead of the pedal cluster mount.

At the rear there is another hole for the tube to exit.

That's a lot easier than going inside the tunnel.

I guess it was the angle of your pic that thru me off.

I'm glad to have helped you out on the line. Russ used to tell us that using a 2 piece line would make replacement easier, as you can line up the holes that the line passes thru easier. I'd do the rear one first, only because it has to pass thru a 2nd hole on an angle. The front one is a straight shot.

What does the opening forward of the pedal cluster look like?

It's just a hole in the corner of the tunnel, floor, and front wall that's about 15mm in diameter. It's more of a straight shot than the rear hole. Sorry, no pics of it (I looked).

I ran a new center line in my Square and it was actually easier than I thought making it one piece. I used the Nickel/Copper brake line since it's pretty flexible and was easy to bend around the central tunnel. I just measured it out, put the ends on it, and ran it through.
