Hey Y'all. So I'm out of town and a buddy was going to take my 2003 EVC camping. Before I went out of town about a month ago, the switch that powers the LED's at the stove broke. So I bypassed the switch so the LED's were lit all the time til I could get in and replace the switch. Because I reckoned the LED's would eventually drain the house battery, I disconnected the house battery for our trip. When my buddy went to get the van today, it started fine, but when he reconnected the coach battery, there's no juice to the rear of the van -- fridge, LED's etc. He felt the relay at the hood and it is at least clicking when the van starts up -- which tells me it's engaging. When the van's running, the LED's will occasionally flicker on and then go off. Would welcome thoughts. I figure maybe the coach battery so dead that its ability to even carry current has been compromised, or despite clicking, the relay is not actually working right. Front of van is running fine. THX

Sounds like the house battery is dead. Easiest way to tell is to throw a multimeter on the terminals and check the voltage. Sometimes you can slow recharge them back up and revive them but sometimes when they're dead and left for a long time they just need to be replaced.

Figured it out. When he hooked battery back up, he reversed polarity. Whew. All good.

Ouch. I think you are safely isolated from the car system but if not, this gets real expensive , really quickly. Like 20 nanoseconds
