I’ve been trying to buy for months now but finding both the bar and hd end links in stock at the same time has been tougher than trying to make it in to Wal Mart without a mask on.

I had the same problem BUT when I ordered from T3 they held the sway bar for me (set it aside since I paid for it) and waited for the end links to come in. Took a couple of weeks but well worth it. T3 kicks ass indeed. Customer service is outstanding and products are top of the line.

Last month I had to buy the bar from Vancafe and links from T3. With the way everything is nowadays, I was just happy to get them right away

Now the end links are in stock and the bar is available. Are there any other vendors that stock the end links for T3?

Jumping into this thread to give praise to the T3 swaybar and end links. I've recently been considering selling the van to upgrade to a more modern, long-trip worthy, vehicle. After installing the T3 swaybar and endlinks, I'm seriously questioning getting rid of the van. The set removes all of the slop from the front end that you may not even realize is there. I've also recently replaced springs, shocks, UCA bushings and ball joints...and none of those parts hold a candle to the amount of difference the swaybar and endlinks made on how the van drives. It's fun to drive again; I'm seriously impressed with the effects

I'm sure it's great! My question is: when will we see the rear sway bar?

Just installed my T3 sway bar and HD end links today (ordered in February). Kermit is 2WD (with LSD rear). I took the front tires off just to make it easier. Instructions were pretty clear, but I had to jump on the forum to figure out the metal yellow triangle piece placement of the end links - really helped when I realized they could be moved! LOL. I had put Radflo shocks on in April, along with Method wheels (new tires last Fall) and was very pleased with driveability improvements, but man, as many others here have mentioned, I can really feel this one!!! It's been happy days getting Kermit prepped for some road tripping this Summer! Be safe out there. p.s. With the SVX engine I'm interested in rear sway bar as well.

These bars are worth every penny. This bar + BFGs + Bilstein + Springs = my van eats up the twisties. Too bad he is on a pretty big backorder. Waiting for one for our newest van...

Do you need to jack up the van to do the bar and endlinks?

Technically no. But it is way easier with wheels off. Some of the years Vanagon have a slightly different mount surface, and it might take a little grinding, and probs should then hit it with some paint. Soooo, Ya, good idea to take wheels off, and have ti on jack stands, for safety.

A set of ramps is ideal for this job. That's what I used and it was not bad at all although like most projects it took longer than I had budgeted.

I did have to buy a deep well socket for the bottom most nut of the HD end links (can't recall the size). On my 1991 van I also had to cut away a lot of body metal with a dremel as others have done. Chris's instruction reference drilling out a hole for late model vans to fit the sway bar bushing housing but I did not have to do that.

Buy 2 and install 1 in the back. There are images of how to install a front Vanagon sway bar in the rear.

I'll be doing this using my original front bar once the T3technique unit is in the front.

I put in a T3 bar and endlinks about two years ago. I was rather disappointed .I expected to sway and rock&roll down the road like a drunken sailor but instead the darn van stuck tight around the corners and acted like it was on permanent good behavor. I almost called Chris to complain about the poor proformance of his bars and endlinks. I then realized after reading the package again I had bought ANTI sway bars.. That explained alot about the sudden civility of my van.
Thank you Chris, for another great T3 product.

btw : installation was easy as van projects go.

That's just unacceptable . I hope when my order comes, I will have a 50/50 chance of making it around freeway offramps wheels down.

In my driving experience with Vanagon's there is no reason not to bob and weave and brake. It just keeps the traffic away from you. Driving with precision will only make traffic think you are in control. Cool

If you really wanna make your T3 swaybar and HD endlinks SHINE,, put one of these on; http://vwparts.aircooled.net/Whiteline-Rear-Swaybar-22mm-1986-92-Vanagon-T3-p/bwr12.htm

The pic may make it look as though you lose some ground clearance, but it's actually tucked up pretty nicely.

We have all been waiting for Chris to introduce us to his rear swaybar for many years, and this thing works great until he gets his onto his website.

I see it’s listed for 86-91 vans. What’s different about pre 86 vans that prevents the Whiteline rear bar from working?

I've heard people moving their front to the rear after they installed T3 sway bar up front.

You don't happen to have any installed pics do ya? Just wondering how the endlinks mount

Finally got mine in and love it! My van doesn’t lean nearly as much in the corners and it feels *kinda* like my old boxster haha!

@turbotype1, well, I tried loading a pic,, and even though I use to work in the high tech field,, I've apparently fell behind.
The endlinks attach to angle iron pieces, about 1 and 1/2 inches wide and about 3/16 thick. One leg is about 2" long. That bolts to the bottom bolt of the shock. The other leg of the angle iron(probably 1 and 1/2" long) faces towards the opposite side of the van, basically they face each other. The endlinks bolt up to the short leg of the angle iron. It's a VERY simple install, so much so, that in comparison, installing the T3 front bar is akin to doing major surgery.

John at Aircooled.net is VERY helpful, and should be able to tell you if that bar fits other vanagons outside of what is listed. Probably not a lot of people would put it on a synchro, cuz you'd lose so much articulation in the rear, but the endlinks seem like it's be very easy to unbolt them when you get off road.
