So I'm replacing the bolts for my rear apron and completely at a loss for the right size. I first ordered replacements from WW which are m8 1.25 and they're too large. So I bought m8 1.0 and still too large. I thought M7's (which are harder to find) should fit and they almost do, but they're slightly loose and don't tighten down. So I thought they thread size could be wrong but I can only find them in an m7 1.0. It's not 1/4 or 5/16 either. I have no idea what it could be. Are there any other possibilities? It's a 61 panel with og mounts as far as I can tell. Thanks for any help _________________ 61 Swivel Seat Panel |

1950-1971 are all M8 (8x1.25) from the factory for German buses. 14mm heads through 1960ish and 13mm heads after that. You can use reduction box bolts if you want the right markings on the heads. _________________ .

have you tried chasing the threads?
Those bolts get dry and rusty; do apply grease/ oil/ anti-seize to the threads when installing them |

M8x1.25 and M8x1.0 are the same size, but different thread pitch (1.25 is coarse, 1.0 is fine)
I'd suggest, as Clara said, to chase the threads. Buy either a thread repair kit or just a small tap and die set. If you're just getting started on your bus, you'll use it... a lot. If you use a tap, be 100% sure you've got the right size/pitch for the hole you're cleaning up. Otherwise, you'll just be cutting new, incorrect threads. |

I did and it worked. Took some time but there was a lot of rust in there. Thanks for the tip _________________ 61 Swivel Seat Panel |

Thank you, and after some cleaning and chasing the threads the replacement bolts fit _________________ 61 Swivel Seat Panel |
