I need a tank for my 72. 4 years ago I had a conversation with someone here about pluses and minuses. I moved on to other things but now I am back and can't find my thread. Maybe it was not mine. So here is a quick re-cap.
72 tank and sending unit are no good.
Do I have to go with a 72? If I buy a different year, I should just buy that year's sending unit too.
Best I can remember the drawback there was that the 72 gauge may bounce some with a later model sending unit.
Did I remember correctly? CIP1 is having a big sale and I could save about $100 if I pull the trigger on all things 73-1/2. Using carbs on this resto btw.
Thanks. _________________ My Toys: '75 Porsche 914, '92 Ski Nautique and now a 1972 VW Transporter Deluxe (punch list fixing) |

That is what I have.... loaded with holes.
Question is more about using a 74-ish with a matching sender. I need to go find the tank and see how the sending unit attaches. _________________ My Toys: '75 Porsche 914, '92 Ski Nautique and now a 1972 VW Transporter Deluxe (punch list fixing) |

I thought it was a stand alone thread. Did not even think about checking there.

The web site picture did not show what I needed to see. But I called JBugs. They went and pulled tank, took pix for me and texted them to me. Perfect. So i bought a 72 tank from them. Why wouldn’t you put specific pix on you website? Oh well. Problem solved. What is next? _________________ My Toys: '75 Porsche 914, '92 Ski Nautique and now a 1972 VW Transporter Deluxe (punch list fixing) |
