Is there a shop that can restore and replate Ghia side molding trim? I have all of the pieces for our 1956 and some still have the aluminum inserts on the ends. I would like to keep them. I have the 8 inside pieces too. I think it was called bright plating.

Any leads are appreciated.

Unless I'm mistaken, I think the trim needs to be stripped of clear anodize, polished to brightness and then be clear anodized again.
I have stripped anodize off of AN fittings before with easy off oven cleaner but never have tried it with Ghia trim.

If you decide to have aluminum parts anodized after cleanup you might consider contacting https://globalmetalfinishing.com. My experiences (plural) with them have all been excellent.

When I went out to the shop this morning I grabbed a piece of scrap Ghia trim and sprayed oven cleaner on it and it did remove the clear anodize after about 3 hours.

I'm hoping I don't have to restore them myself but that is a great tip to show they do have a significant coating. Thanks

There is a place in TX called Concourse Trim. They straighten and re-anodized a set of split beetle trim for me. They did a great job and was a decent price.
