I searched and can’t find this exact issue please delete this if it’s redundant. Oil light and buzzer are sounding after a few moments on start up. Temp is fine ,Oil dip reads full ( between the two dots) what is this? _________________ '88Doka JX td

What year and model van? It’s likely an indicator problem, but you should always verify the actual oil pressure with a gauge. _________________ ☮️ |

the buzzer should sound when the rpm is over 2000 and the oil pressure is lower then 0.9 bar in the oil filter housing.
If it sounds when the engine speed is lower than 2000 rpm then it is an electric issue - bad rpm signal, bad ground, etc.
if it sounds over 2000 rpm, then it is either an electric issue (bad sender, grounding wire) or the system is working properly and you dont have enough oil pressure.
electric issues are common, when the speedo is changed to a gas one, as the rpm signal is different on diesel and gas and the buzzer circuit is in the speedo. _________________ Zoltan

Post a picture of the engine. Was it fine and now it’s not? What is the condition of the timing belt? _________________ ☮️ |

timing belt is solid, the engine doenst have any leaks that i can see. the level is fine. the power seems normal everything seems to be the same just the light and buzzer. if the pressure has dropped what are some tell tale signs of that? i may need a few days to be able to test its pressure. how do you test the oil pressure on a diesel engine? _________________ '88Doka JX td

You'd need a hand held gauge. You'd remove the oil pressure sending unit at the oil filter housing and temporarily screw in your hand held gauge hose. Or you go to the trouble of actually installing a gauge up front.
The problem is, I don't have wiring schematics for your van to tell you where to look, but the dynamic oil pressure warning system has 2 oil sending unit switches. One on the oil filter housing and one on the back of the cylinder head.
In the US we only got diesel vanagons for 2 years and they did not have a turbo or tach. So, you would need to look at the engine and see if both oil pressure switches are installed and connected.
Which is why I asked has this been fine and now it's not? Was this van always a turbo diesel? I could tell you how to defeat the warning, but you need to verify its a bogus warning and not actually an oil pressure problem. _________________ ☮️ |
