It can very difficult to find a 67 wiper motor, and expensive. I just changed the complete wiper setup in my 67 motor, arms, mounting bracket as the PO had hacked in a late 70s VW unit in and it wasnt working any way. I could not find a complete 67 unit , but was able to find a 69 model that is almost identical, fit perfect and works well. Wolfsburg West does offer a 12 armature that should fit in your motor that you have now they also have the new rubbers you need and E-clips and bushings.

Oh the joys of rust.

Took the fenders off today to dig into some body rust.

The upper rear fender areas may need some metal to be replaced.

Nice work on the rust repair of the windshield aperture.
In this pic of your wheel well, do you know what that empty hole is for, between the 2nd and 3rd fender-mounting nuts? (The snipped off turn-signal wiring is basically pointing right at it.) My '65s have these but they are empty, I'm wondering if they were just tooling holes at the factory.

My guess would be a tooling hole, or body jig hole. It shows no signs of anything else being used.

I can't make out much of the cursive writing though, if anyone can tell let me know.

I think its:

67 XXX XX / White Triso? $35
Clean Upholstry / Punch out windows $24
xxxx xx

I think it's White tires, 67 Inspection Sticker and Push Out Windows. I also see Install Lug Wrench which seems odd.

That's what I also see.
It looks like the car was a used Demo after the '67s were out, thus the $150 discount.
The words:
"change oil"
"67 inspection sticker"
"clean upholstery"
"install lug wrench" are grouped in a bracket, most likely as a no-charge dealer prep note.

I thought the "install lug wrench" was kind of odd. Missing from the tool kit? Or was there another lug wrench option available? And I was wondering why the oil would need to be changed and upholstery cleaned....the demo explains those.

I'll have to agree about the Demo model, along with the oil change etc. Makes sense for being sold in 10/4/1966 late in the year.

Maybe the lug wrench was missing and they needed it to come with the car. Still interesting!

Box of Wolfsburg west goodies arrived today.

Repair metal!

So I'm really torn about the heater channel.

It looks great externally, and internally.

However the carpet securing channels rusted out, the bug had decorative sill plates installed, which seemed to trap dirt/water/rust between the carpet/carpet channel.

It's pretty rusty right on top. You can see the gray center heater channel section laying on the ground.

Might just wait and see how it looks after soda blasting.

My 67 sunroof bug is about the same with the carpet retainers... Good heater channels all the way, but the carpet retainers are rusting out in a few spots. If I'm reading the WW site correctly.. I think this is the replacement sheet metal for just those strips.

I think I may go that route with the carpet strip you linked. After more digging and grinding it looks like I'll only need to replace about 3 square inches of upper heater channel. That's not enough to justify replacing the ENTIRE channel.

Did a little more work today gutting everything out of the trunk, marking and tagging each bolt/item.

Someone wrote "93" in the trunk with a yellow wax crayon. I assume that might be an inspector?

That's a common location for factory wax pencil markings. Could very well mean M-code 93, which is the option for pop out rear quarter windows on a Type 1.
