These are the flaps on the inside of the rear fender area. I want to freshen mine up. Is the rubber part available or should I just make some? How about the push-on retainers?
Here's a great image of them in place from Yeti69's gallery

I'd probably make some new ones. In my area the metal likes to rust away.
You could use some 3M Window Weld to glue the rubber back on, and maybe some plastic push pins (used on newer cars to hold plastic parts on) to hold the rubber on for the flap. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

They are for the later model Notchbacks. At least on my 71 Notch they were the same as the Square that donated them.
Don't know about the early cars. _________________ Bob 65 Notch S with Sunroof

Drill out the rivets, keep the metal pieces (or use them as a template to make new pieces), use the rubber part as a template on something this:
https://www.mcmaster.com/rubber-sheets/backing-typ...er-sheets/
Chrome/plate/paint the metal parts, use new rivets and you're all done. |
