I was wanting to ask if anyone has had experience with the AA Pistons WBX 1.9 to 2.0 piston/cylinder kit?

About to do the top end seals of my 1.9 (GW kit), and figured if it's open, I could just change out to the 2.0L WBX piston and sleeve setup. Im on a bit of a budget, so unable to do the GW 2.2 or 2.3 kit, and may be stetching it with AMC heads if corrosion ends up being the situation up top.

Personally I've done some aircooled VW top end work and complete aircooled motorcycle rebuilds (Mostly BSAs/Triumph and a Hodaka). Any thoughts or advice? Thanks.

The difference in a 1.9L and a 2.1L is the throw of the crank and not the diameter of the pistons, and because the throw is different the piston pin height is also different between the two engines. You can go to a larger piston on your 1.9L but it must have the 1.9L pin height and not the 2.1L pin height. Not sure what is available and from whom.

Personally I noticed very little difference in the power of a 1.9L and a 2.1L.

“Big bore” 1.9 aa kits can be ok... just check the cylinders for round and taper before you lock everything down.

Just wanted to add an update. Placed the new 2.0L kit in last week, only about 150mi so far, no issues.
