Running some 52 IDAs

200air
180main

55 f10 idle w/120

Throttles fully closed

Timing 8° btdc

Fuel pressure 2.5psi

No vacuum leaks

50mm intakes 2332cc FK89, 11:1

Idle is out of control shooting from 4-5000rpm
Throttles fully close, screw not even touching

What / where is feeding fuel to rev out of control?

Fuel alone would not do that, must be getting air too. Check for leaks

sounds like it sucked in an intake gasket.

Also, I have seen on 51.5 (empi) that the cam for the accel pump on the throttle shaft will hit the casting and prevent the throttle plates from closing all the way. A few minutes with a dremel fixes that problem.

Flip the carb over and look for this issue...

Mine did that with a bad intake to head gasket.

I had bent new shafts also. Geers fixed them. Sucked to have a new set of custom 52’s from a well known builder and they need to be re done by geers. 2k you think they would be perfect. Oh well live and learn.
