Hey all,
I am currently working on putting one of Gregs kits in my aircooled vanagon.

Im ready to rock, but seems that i need to shorten the input shaft on the trans by 3/8".
Since im running an 091 trans, not a 091/1 trans, im curious if anyone out there knows if the input shaft lengths on the two transaxles are the exact same?

I dont want to go trimming my 091 shaft only to find that its a different length than the 091/1.

The input shafts of vehicles fitted with stock diesel engines are shorter than the input shafts of vans fitted with gasoline engines. The gasser input shafts are all the same length regardless of whether the van has an 091, 091/1, 094 5-speed or 094 4WD. The diesel input shafts are all the same length regardless of whether the van has an 091, 091/1, 094 5-speed or 094 4WD.

This seems like information that should be included at the purchase price point.

The input shaft length should be specified. I imagine the kit uses an adapter plate. The diesel input shaft length is for a diesel bellhousing. In other words it may need to be shortened, but not as much as a diesel input shaft. I would ask the provider.
