Vent Window Latches

I am going thru parts that are spare and have 3 window latches as spares. They were bought back about 2010. Two were genuine VW and are loose, 1 is another brand. The one that is the other brand is in a package that reads 111-837-658A.

I seem to recall that ten years ago the latches were hard to come by. It is my recollection that BusDepot sold me these for a bus and told me that the 111-837-657A / 658A Super Beetle ones fit the same as the 311-837-657A / 658A type 3 & bus ones.

Can anyone confirm this is true? Today both part number sequences are available. I cannot see any difference between these parts.

I can’t help but I too have a bus depot one sitting in my parts bin that I still haven’t installed and that was at least five years ago.
