For those trying to improve or rebuild your D-jet injection ....we have long spoken about the use of modern L-jet EV-1 connectors in the system in pace of the problematic original female terminals.

The problem is finding or manufacturing a plug body that fits these terminals and fits our D-jet components. For quite some time its been a back burner project of mine to mold or cast these plug bodies out of 6-6 or 12 nylon......and it was literally within a week of attempting this in a mold I had made for teh two pin plug.....when a Samba member who mainly works on Mercedes Benz with D-jet...sent me some EXISTING AMP plug bodies that work PERFECTLY with very minor mods....in our components.....all of our components...not just a few.

Here is a link to the recent thread...with parts numbers. Most of these you can buy new....a little expensive....but even with buying all of them new and buying wire and insulation/sheathing...if you have a crimper tool and one die set.....you can build a total brand new harness with EV-1 connectors....for about $325-ish.

If you have Mercedes and VW's and Volvos in your local junkyards dating from about 1995 through 2005....you can probably find all of the plug bodies and maybe some of the boots that fit (those you can buy new)....and build a harness for just wire and insulation cost of $200 or less (I like expensive wire)

Ok, wow- I never pictured myself doing something like that, but eventually it sounds like it could be necessary. Luckily I have multiple DJet harnesses for my '74 reassembly. I guess I might be one of those owners who intended for 85% good enough to get to a few shows or meets/cruises, etc... you always mention.Laughing But hey, I when have I ever learned to leave well enough alone with my hobbies? Hint, it's never.
