Wow, Dave! Nice paint job! The van looks very straight and your prep obviously was excellent.
Can you tell us what brand of paint you used? Was the base coat water based, or low VOC?
(I assume it was LH5U Dove blue.) _________________ '86 Syncro Westy SVX |

Starting to take off the syncro specific parts from the engine then time to separate the transmission.
The engine turns over with a breaker bar on the crank bolt and I can feel compression. I’ll sell it as is to someone local as a core or maybe someone will be lucky and get it running without a rebuild. _________________ Dave O

They did use some form of sealer but this looked like it was done by an amateur. Gobs here and there. |
Here's a 43,000 mile Syncro.
Pretty likely these are factory globs.
Hope it doesn't have the OG gear oil too.... _________________

Dave
Don't mistakenly put the 911 engine in your Syncro, I'd have a hard time figuring which one to complete if they were both in my Garage.
When you're ready to do the front struts, let me know if you want to borrow my Spring Compressor. Without it that job is a bitch. Pay shipping both ways and you can use it.

Making me happy should be your highest priority.
Btw: On that note, I installed the Iota and it pleases me. |
