I am looking at my bentley, but that section seems to be missing.

On my 091 aircooled trans, the front plate that attaches to the front body mount has 3 headless bolts with three nuts (i assume this is some sort of adjustment mechanism).

Not sure what the installation/torque values are on those three bolts.

Most people just tighten them to what feels good to them as the torque in this kind of application is not particularly critical. You could assume the studs are 10.9 grade and then look the size and grade up in a metric fastener torque chart and use whatever value they give.

I use the german value of gutentite. It is an acquired calibration from decades of experience and based on the diameter of the receiving fixture.

Just don't tighten like my tire shop recently did to the F150 front wheel nuts!

There are six studs....... two snapped off on the way home.

The other four snapped off at home as I removed them to fix the broken studs!

I don't know exactly how tight they were but OMG! I was jumping on a five foot cheater bar before they snapped!

I called, they apologized and offered to fix it free, but no, enough damage was done...... please don't touch them again!

There can be way too much Gutentite!

Sounds like they used the toogutentite value.

FWIW, i too wondered of this torque value.

As have many other folks, I did those nuts by feel with a combo wrench. No issues after thousands of miles.

It might be too late to suggest and may not be a factor but as a guess, cleaning those mating surfaces might help ensure a good ground path from drivetrain to strap to frame.
