I remember years ago when contemplating getting a new van, you wanted a combo car/cargo vehicle. Congratulations, that dream has been realized.

Towing the empty trailer was nothing.

I had to keep reminding myself it was there so that I didn't do anything stupid!

We will see how it follows loaded with furniture.

On the good news side, my used stub shafts came!
I did a quick measurement, they are the same size and no wear that I saw.
Threads are good, came with nuts.

My inner Timken ball bearings should arrive tomorrow.

My current project is my wife's burgundy 91 tin top that ended up sitting for many years. Trying to get through inspection chasing rich running problem right now.

https://www.autobodytoolmart.com/product/kirker-bl...-car-paint

This is a good source for all things body repair related. I got a color chip card from them at one point and the Kirker Habanero seemed like a really good match for the burgundy (and reasonably priced too). Unfortunately it does want a clear coat as does any metallic paint.

Was driving down 202 yesterday from NJ into PA. Looked like many of your photos. Beautiful!

Good job.

(I am just now, today, rolling on a marine polyurethane onto the euroBus top. Great minds think alike)

Thanks!

I'm very happy with the results.
Rustoleum farm equipment paint.
The finish isn't perfect, I used a roller and a brush......... but it is quite good.
When you factor in that it took but three hours start to finish and the paint cost only $20 ......... it is VERY GOOD!

It took less than a quart. The paints ability to cover in one coat is quite good. There is a spot or two that needs a bit more but that's it.
I could do a second coat but it really isn't needed.

They had quarts and also spray cans.

I bought two qts but only used one.

it would be interesting to KNOW, but i suspect the "Specialty Farm and Implement Enamels" are merely color/finish matched products and not a specific formulation for robustness.

Possibly true, time will tell how well it wears.

My top has been rusted for years. Yesterday was a beautiful June day so I decided to eliminate the rust forever. It seemed like a good idea at the time. First time I've been able to stand up in a T3 since '97 when I had to ditch my rust eaten beloved '87 with a factory sunroof. Several T3s since then.

My various Van projects are on hold.

One very shitty project reared its ugly head.

I purchased this house five years ago.
Built in 1967.
Septic has worked just fine so I focused on other tasks.

One thing that bothered me was it has a basement floor drain that drains into the under slab sewer pipe to the septic.
"Stupid Idea" thinks I.
If the Septic ever backs up all of the crap will come out that drain!

But alas...... every thing functioned just fine until yesterday morning when I went downstairs and the area around the floor drain is wet..... like 1/2” deep wet.

"Crap! I've got a leaking Pipe!" Thinks I.
A quick inspection reveals zero leaks........ uh oh...... this isn't a leak..... this is backed up sewage!

Yesterday I banned water use and shop vac'd grey water. Moved stuff and was generally discouraged.
My tank has an inspection pipe, I can see the sludge and poking at it, it is soft, not hard like I've seen some sludge layers. (Yes, I've played in way too many Septic tanks)

I wonder if the drain field failed? $$$$’s .......

I stuck a hose in the septic tank inspection pipe and ran it for about six hours.
Absolutely no level change, tells me the field is working just fine, the feed pipe is clogged.

Rented a power auger (always fun) and snaked the pipe multiple times.
The coil bit never brought back diaper wipes or feminine hygiene products so there is some joy.
But still no drainage.

I'm thinking the infeed pipe at the baffle or inlet Tee is clogged.

I'll rent a mini excavator and dig the sucker up for a proper pumping. It is about 3’ down...... hand shoveling just might kill me!
I dug my masonry fireplace footing a few years ago...... NOT fun! I hand dug my deck footings..... NOT fun!

Happy happy joy joy!
Should have pumped it years ago at my leisure.......

Heavy Sigh.........

Dave
