I’d like to adorn my ‘66 with a Wolfsburg emblem on the hood. What year chrome trim do I need? Does it use same holes?

OK, after some searching I figured I need a pre-1964 trim piece plus a self-adhesive crest.
Couldn’t find if existing mounting holes in the 66 hood will take an older trim.
Anyone knows?

| Study some pics of original cars say a 62 bug and you can drill 2 holes for the bonnet crest and fit a shorter bonnet trim,the clips will slide in the trim so no more holes to drill,it’s what I have done and I also added the peanut front indicators rather than the larger 64 on ones |
