I noticed a post somewhere about the truckfridge having a door prop tab on the latch. It was designed to hold open the door a skosh to be able to air it out but not trigger the light to come on. Perfect for when the fridge is not on between uses.
So the tab is there but it is useless in the stock setup. It does not spring up to grab the lip of the top cover over the door as it looks like it should.
So I looked for something to help keep it sprung upward.
I settled on a piece of closed cell foam. Shove it under the tab and it keeps it sprung up enough that it can grab onto the top cover.
In use. YMMV.

DOB you may be thinking of something you saw on Facebook.
But FB is almost impossible to search as an archive.
Not like TheSamba.
Need someone to harvest the good stuff off FB and put it into TheSamba Vanagon archive.
With credits of course.
I tried foam, but my latch would not/could not stay clicked down (stowed).
The best method I've found is to slide a penny under it, all the way across.
That I have to then remove when using the fridge.
It's (currently) easy to find another penny if you lose it. _________________

Yep likely fb. And I remove the foam piece and stash it in the drawer when using the fridge. But I like the penny idea for when I lose the foam. _________________ Dave O
