Hi. There is a user on here who had Stockton Wheel in CA install 15 inch bands on his original 14 inch bus wheel centers so he could retain the factory hub caps. Has anyone else done this? I'd love to find somewhere in the New England area that can do this instead of shipping wheels back and forth across the country. Any ideas and is there anyone else whos done this? |

It's gotta be a custom barrel. They have the rolling dies to make pretty much whatever they want. The rest of us are limited to whats available or cut out of other wheels. Having a 15" barrel that has a drop center deep enough to fit a 14" center? I'm surprised it doesn't look weird. Are you sure it's not a 15" bus center? _________________ modok wrote:

I had 13” Chevy Vega GT rims turned into 15’s a long time ago. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far

No, not a 15 inch bus center. This member had them re use the 14 inch centers with new outer bands. ( I saved a pic but of course now I can't find it!) Honestly it looks more proportional than the originals...I always thought the outer bands looked puny on the original rims. |

I was able to find a couple wheel repair places close to me. I'll be calling today to see if they can do this. I would love to find the member who had this done at Stockton wheel...I can't find where I saved the info |

Found the picture. The member actually lives in my area. He had them converted to 15x8. I wouldn't go that wide for myself.

It doesn't cost much more to ship them to Stockton Wheel than to FL etc. _________________ https://imgur.com/user/FisherSquareback/posts

Mine where done by Wheel Works in Tuckerton, nj. Not sure if he’s still in business and was hard to get in contact with all along anyway. _________________ 1973 standard, yellow, lowered, 3” narrowed front, 1600 blo-thru turbo w/single dell 15.4@86, so far
