restarting my rebuild after letting it sit for 10 years. I bought a NOS gas tank valve for the car. Including the pipe, and the body gasket. I rememberred wanting one to change out the newer valve without the filter. Today I pull the 4 bolts and clips clean the cobwebs, pry the tank up and there is a shiny new original fileter gas tank valve (well once I cleaned away the rest of the cobwebs that is).
I still have to clean and reline the tank. Just thought it was funny that I figured since I have to remove the tank I should replace the valve and when I lift the tank there it is already done.

I figure Ill clean the filter and save the new NOS one I just bought to do a job that I already did.

I've done that a couple times but mostly it's the buying parts I already have only to find I now have 2. Or 3-4
