Good Evening and a Happy New Year from the Uk . I’m trying to help someone out at work with a Porsche 356. His Auntie has a genuine 356 and somehow she has left the key in the ignition and closed the door but only on the 1st catch. How can we open the door without damaging the car. It’s a hardtop 356 if that makes a difference.

Use a mobile locksmith, they'll be able to get into the car.

If you have an old oil dipstick make a 90* bend about 2" from the end and go in between the door gap and lift the lock button.

The one on the wind wing then you can reach in and open the door.

That will work as long as the knob on that is not tightened down. If he cannot get it opened that way, he should get one of these kits, the long handle will easily go inside the window from the B pillar and lift the door handle.
