Plenty of shade under the awning.

Yep. Love the awning.

How 2WD friendly is the event/location?

Totally 2WD friendly. That campsite is a piece of cake.

The area is full of 2WD trails to explore, especially if you have some extra clearance but plenty if you do not, and some full on syncro trails of course.

Last time I headed West on I-70 out of Denver, I got up to 28 MPH, and became very aware of the 55 MPH minimum speed limit ...

Half a day away for someone with an SVX or H6. Perhaps a full day for others.

Totally 2WD friendly.

So no Syncro snobbery, lowly 2WDs are accepted?
I'd love to make it.

None. Zero. Many, myself included, are 2WD. All are welcomed.

I usually take Highway 6 out of Golden and then get on I70 further west. My 1.9 usually keeps up with traffic until about Georgetown. I also leave with an empty water tank and fill in Moab.

I should be there for the fun times with everyone. It will be nice to get out to Moab again. Oh wait, I've already been there a couple times this year! Very Happy

Heck! I just discovered the dates for this and realized I will be in the area around then. I’ve never been to Moab and just getting my feet wet with the Syncro. I’m camping in Leadville CO and was planning to go to Bryce Canyon next, then Moab on the way back to Iowa. Is there anything I should do in advance like register or reserve a spot somewhere? I imagine Moab will be awash in humanity over the Labor Day weekend. Any tips or recommendations welcome!

I have not attended before. Why is registration necessary?

I had lunch last week with my buddy who's getting married that weekend, and was just thrilled to hear that plans are proceeding swimmingly and the wedding is still scheduled for Sept. 4th.

It's looking like my spouse is skipping the wedding to go on our annual Wellington Lake paddleboard/camping trip ("I'm not missing three days of paddle boarding for somebody's second wedding.") So now I'm thinking if I can slip out of the 1 pm wedding by 3, I'm in Moab by 10 PM Saturday night (assuming Glenwood Canyon is open) and can spend the day Sunday then come back Monday.

There is still hope...

It is a very organized event. Limited number of vehicles allowed due to BLM regulations for the group campsite. Meals are available too.

Only registered vehicles will be able to attend and the event has filled up in the past.
