Nice job. That OG paint will buff out nicely.
As far as your urine smell from the previous owner of your house......get Nature's Miracle Urine Destroyer from Petmsart. The stuff is magical. My bus was full of mice nests and a gallon did wonders to get rid of the smell. |
Thanks man! I've used lots of dawn/vinegar and enzyme cleaner throughout the house, pulling up a couple layers of flooring really did the trick though. Several gallons of killz primer later and its no longer " the piss house " as my buddies deemed it _________________ Motion Dynamic |

Started tearing into the motor the other week, I planned on just replacing the pushrod tube seals and rolling it. When I pulled the head off the 1-2 side cylinder 1 came off with the head, when inspecting the rings I noticed this chunk of the piston barely hanging on, so I decided to tear down the rest of it
My dad saved 3 good used pistons and cylinders we saved from my old camper motor, they were in better shape so I decided to rehone cylinder 4 to reuse it and the piston. New rings, pushrod tubes and seals and the bottom end came together pretty quick
Scored some engine tin I needed face down in the dirt behind my dads shop
Rattle can to the rescue!
Runs good! I’m pumped for my first solo “build” _________________ Motion Dynamic |

You will need to install a much larger B+ wire between the generator and the regulator. 8ga. would be perfect for this. |

Thanks for the info, i removed the middle seat the first day i got it. Middle seats make it harder to camp and haul junk around! _________________ Motion Dynamic |

The bus made its "debut" at The Concord Volkswagen Social yesterday. Still need to work out some kinks but she cruises! hope to have it at Farmington next month.

Update time! I tried rolling to the coast for a 4th of July celebration, cylinder 3 said naw and left me on the side of the road. Luckily i was able to limp it to my buds shop, ditch the bus and catch a ride with him to enjoy the 4th of July.
The good times rolled and i was back to reality, so i quit my job in the concrete jungle and lived at my friends shop for a week and some change in order to build a motor just in time for High Country Bus Festival in the beautiful NC mountains.
Yanked the motor and got to work, and by work i mean goofin off with two real good homies while putting together the best of the worst engine parts we could come up with. Nothing like working alongside two veteran VW mechanics to remind ya you dont know sheet! I learned a lot and am already looking forward to my next engine build
Didn't take many photos during the process, but in typical fashion we managed to get the engine together the night before our High Country Bus fest, a must go if you're on the east coast...
Loaded up and ready for a week in the woods, life is good...
Hitting the road, if you haven't cruised the Blue Ridge Parkway put it on your list!!
Pulling into the campground
All set up!
