1:43 !
Usually these old marvels already have a lowered suspension, from eager kids putting their weight on top and bending the sheetmetal floor plate. This is what I like to refer to as the perfect Märklin - Look (Merc-Lynn). The look we strive for on our real buses. It only takes a minute and removing 2 sheetmetal screws, to achive further drop. even better ! Very Happy (can be reversed in another minute).

Now. if it only was that quick on the real thing.... Wink Laughing

Just loving this early model. It really has all the correct proportions and details of an early transporter.

a lot more of these kinds of ideas need to become cars.
custom cars used to be a real thing. why not today?

here in the US this is actually much easier than in Europe where cars actually need to be inspected again and again.

Here in Georgia cars do not have to be inspected outside of getting emissions tested. Ever!
Pickup trucks over a certain weight do not need to be emissions tested either....

you can pull a model A out of a field, throw the frame away, make your own from tubing, slap your own engine and suspension in it, put the Model A body back on it, chop it 4 inches, weld it back together, and start driving it....

Cool cars! My dad still has his Marklin train set from when he was a kid. They are very well made indeed. Looks great slammed or stock.

nice patina too Cool
I think some of these early die cast cars capture the character of the real car better than larger scale and/or more detailed models.
