Been searching high and low looking to find info for the last month and week singlecab that was destined for the US market. Anyone have any leads or info to point me to? I have a 71 sc built the last day of October and I'm wondering how many more were made after that. Thanks everyone |

No. the "Chicken tax was actually a tariff levied by the United Stated government against foreign vehicle manufacturers importing trucks into the United States. It was not charged directly to the consumer. VW chose not to pay it, so it stopped importing trucks to the US.
The intended target was Japan. But they managed to skirt it by importing the trucks and beds separately. Then doing final assembly here in the USA. |
