Hey guys, I'm new to the group and VWs. I am picking up this buggy next weekend and am trying to ID it. Any info would be appreciated. These are the only pics I have at this time.

Based on the shape of the dash, It looks like a Berrien Nostalgia. I have one.

Great! That buggy has had quite a bit of custom work done. Rounded fender edges and moulded in side pods at a minimum. |

My understanding is, the engine is a 1600 rebuilt by a pro builder. My friend is not sure what may have been done to it. It's a 72 super beetle chassis, pans in good shape, body has been wet sanded to be painted.

Looking good!
You need to get rid of that plastic fuel filter before it cracks and burns your buggy to the ground! The metal one is fine but move it off the exhaust heat riser pipe, it will get too hot and vapor lock the fuel system. Move it forward in front of the engine.
If you end up with stutters and stumbles there may be a better distributor/carb match. Try it that way first.
Missing some tins of course, they always are it seems. _________________ I never finish anything, I have a black belt in partial arts! |

Agree, thanks for the heads up. My understanding is it runs great, will know after checkup and a new battery. |
